About this event

VENUE:

We will be racing on beautiful Lake Elizabeth in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin!

 

Boats will be set up and launched from parking lot/launch ramp located at Sand Bar and Island Grill (3101 E. Lakeshore Drive, Twin Lakes). 

 

Event will be dry-sailed.  Boats will be kept on your trailers in parking spots reserved for regatta competitors.  We will assist with boat set up, launching and pull out. 

 

 

GENERAL:

  • Regatta Duration – This is organized as a Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday morning regatta.

     

  • Races Planned - 5 races are planned (one toss out if 5 races are completed).

     

  • Friday (June 12) Schedule

**   3:00 PM            Registration and Boat Set Up Assistance (3101 E. Lakeshore Dr.)

**   4:30 PM            Skipper’s Meeting at launch

**   5:30 PM            1st Warning Signal for one and only race on Friday

**  Post Race         Pizza and beer/soda (267 W. Park Dr.)

 

  • Saturday (June 13) Schedule

    ** 10:30 AM            Warning Signal for 1st of back to back races (2 races planned but could add a race if Sunday forecast is not good)

    ** Post race             Beverages provided

     

  • Sunday (June 14) Schedule

** 10:00 AM           Warning Signal for 1st of back to back races (no race to start after 12:00)

** Post Race           Pack up boats

                                    Lunch and Awards at onsite Pavilion

 

RULES:
The races will be governed by the rules defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).

The following rules are changed/clarified for this regatta. 

  1. Scoring System – Low Point - USSA Appendix A - RRS A2.1 is changed to provide that when fewer than five (5) races are completed a boats score will be the total of all of her race scores.  If five (5) races are completed, the worst score will be excluded (dropped) from her series (regatta) score.
  2. RRS A1 - A Complete Regatta – One completed race shall constitute a series (regatta)
  3. RRS 41 - Outside Help – This rule is modified so that a capsized MC may receive outside assistance, without penalty, and may continue to race so long as she sails the entire course and finishes properly.
  4. RRS 44.2 - One-Turn Penalties Only – This rule is changed to a one turn penalty for all penalties incurred on the course.  All remaining rule verbiage in 44.2 remains the same as written.

ELIGIBILITY:

This event is open to MC scows whose skippers have completed registration and paid the required fees before their first race. 

 

 

TROPHIES:  All competitors will receive baseball hat.   1st Place receives travelling trophy.  All top Finishers will receive nice prizes. 

 

REGISTRATION & FEE:     $75 ($85 if registered after 5/31). 

Fee covers regatta hat, Friday evening pizza party and Sunday awards lunch
