At the July 7, 1940 Twin Lakes Yacht Club meeting, Commodore Dan Coffey asked that each member provide their design and color scheme for a club burgee. The first submission to Lloyd's Register of American Yachts came back with the request to revise the design and color combination. By the September 1 meeting all was agreed upon and the burgee was accepted. The official club burgee as approved by Lloyd's is a red field with a blue stripe running horizontally the length.
Some TLSC awards given out today are replicas of that design in honor of what the TL Yacht Club brought to us.
